Melrose & Morgan’s two locations in Primrose Hill and Hampstead, which brim with artisan produce and local, seasonal ingredients, became meccas for Londoners trying to recreate restaurant-quality food at home during lockdown. Now it’s casting its net a little wider with a range of ready-to-eat picnic hampers available for nationwide delivery. The range is truly vast, spanning everything from elevenses and aperitifs to selections inspired by Gloucester and Sweden.
For an all-out picnic experience, however, we recommend The Traditional Picnic, filled with classic components such as scotch eggs, sausage rolls, sweet peppers with feta, manzanilla olives and strawberries (and a vegetarian option with vegan sausage rolls). For those looking to veer away from the traditional, The Heath and Hill Picnic offers a Mediterranean take with the likes of hummus, charcuterie, fig and apple chutney, Brindisa cocktail snacks and grilled artichoke. Lastly, the Sandwich Picnic is filled with an array of sandwiches including cheese and red marmalade, smashed avocado with sweet chilli jam and egg mayo and cress.
