He wanted the pasta to be so well-crafted, and so fresh, that chefs would be proud to serve it as their own hand-made pasta.
La Tua first sold pasta at farmer’s markets, including the famous Borough Market, and soon became the pasta makers of choice for many of the top restaurants and hotels in London and beyond.
]]>We come from a small country, with a peculiar geographical distribution and variable microclimates where Mediterranean herbs thrive. Studied by scientists and traded by farmers since the beginning of history, these little known ingredients have great culinary value. However, they rarely cross the borders of their places of origin.
Our job has become to travel the country for superior herbs and inspire farmers to believe in forgotten, heirloom varieties. We source from small organic farms across Greece, and we know our growers by their first name. Curating our plants’ journey from sourcing to shipping, we make sure they’ll maintain their magical properties all the way to your kitchen!
]]>We use pork and beef from traditional British breeds, lamb and goats, Yorkshire mangalitza and British wagyu. We work closely with a small number of suppliers, and try to be a good customer for them by taking, as far as possible, the cuts that aren't bought their other customers; that means leaf fat, jowls and sows not eyeballs and tails.
]]>We’re very proud of the fact we’ve taken this idea from concept to creation and the result is our ever-growing range of Artisan Drinks, all made with 100% natural ingredients, offering unique flavour combinations which have been developed by Mikey to truly complement craft spirits rather than drowning them in sugar or artificial ingredients. When this is combined with Al’s outstanding illustrations, each with their own story of where the art was created, you can see the artisan spirit behind this very different type of mixer drink!
]]>Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.
Hammerton Beers today are based both on modern and traditional brewing techniques. The team are lovers of all things beer and our beers are influenced not just by English beers but the great beers found across the globe.
]]>After graduating from university, George developed a passion for health and fitness and began juicing as an alternative to consuming sugar saturated soft drinks. As his obsession grew, he discovered the vast volume of produce wasted daily, due to it not conforming to the supermarket’s strict criteria on shape and size. This revelation prompted George’s commitment to fighting the food-waste epidemic by using wonky, surplus produce to make our juices.
That’s when it all sparked for George. When his friends went off to find jobs in the City, he began building long lasting relationships with British farmers across the UK. This meant, Beetroots from Bedfordshire, Carrots from Peterborough, Apples from Surrey and Greens from Lancashire Once he’d collected all of his patriotic produce, he was ready to (hopefully) set London alight and his grand plan would all start by selling to his local café around the corner from where he grew up.
Daily Dose is available at both our stores.

]]>Started in 2007, the Tomato Stall showcases the speciality organic and conventional tomato varieties grown on their Isle of Wight nursery and provide them directly to the consumer. In that same year, they loaded up their first transit van with tomatoes and made the journey to the farmers’ markets in London. The reception their tomatoes received was overwhelming and, over time, they travelled around the country trading at farmers’ markets wherever they could.
They now produce a wide range of products that encapsulate their 'flavour is foremost' ethos and all the products are completely additive and preservative free. Their head growers have an amazing 50 years of knowledge and experience between them and all of their tomatoes are left to ripen on the vine and picked at their peak of flavour. On top of this, their growing system is completely biodegradable, from the coconut husk that the plants are grown in to the string that supports them. All their plant waste is turned into compost and used to enrich the soil of their organic crops the following year. They even use natural predators to control pests, and the pollination of all the plants is done by a hardworking team of bumblebees that are native to the UK.
Passionate for all things tomato, they are continuing to grow and expand their range to bring customers the next best thing.
]]>Their honey is gathered from Pembrokeshire's wild flowers such as Bluebells, Dandelions, May, Blackberries and wild Clovers and is full of delicate and aromatic flavours. Filtered using only gravity and time, their goal is for you to taste the honey exactly as the bees left it in the comb. Delicious and pure.
Marmalade is another of their specialities. January is marked by the arrival of Amadora's Organic Seville Oranges and for a short time it’s marmalade season. They slowly bake the oranges before slicing them by hand and gently cooking them in large copper pans. The only other ingredients added are Organic Sugar from Cuba and Organic Sicilian Lemons.
In addition to their spectacular honey and marmalade, they have sourced a wonderful range of olive oil and almonds from Italy which you can also find in our shops.

]]>Starting with 15 acres of apples and pears planted in the mid 1980’s, followed in the early 1990’s with soft fruit such as raspberries and strawberries, they began supplying to major supermarkets and wholesalers. However, it soon became clear that this was not the way the Deme family wanted to work and so they made the change and began supplying direct to customers and independent shops and retailers, as well as selling at smaller farmers markets.
Through speaking with their customers, it became clear that people wanted fruit to taste as good as possible, but they also wanted to know that it was free of chemicals.
The decision was made to remove chemical sprays and pesticides and produce on the farm has been made this way from 2000. They learnt that growing plants that are strong and healthy with a natural resistance to pests & diseases produces fruit & vegetables which are full of flavour, with the added benefit of being free from chemicals.
Today, their range includes a wide variety of single variety and blended apple and fruit juices. The juices are produced from tree ripened, hand selected fruit which is pressed in small batches on site, within hours of being picked. The juice is then lightly pasteurised in order to preserve the natural colours and flavours before being bottled on site.
We stock a range of fresh fruit and vegetables from Chegworth Valley as well as they delicious juices.
